However, we recommend booking online or contacting us, 24 to 48 hours, in advance for night visits, romantic packages, professional photoshoots, private cave reservations and large groups. You may also simply pay upon arrival. We accept cash, Visa and Mastercard.

Entry includes a guided cave and garden tour, swimming in the crystal-clear underground freshwater lake, butterfly enclosure, animal area, complimentary safety helmets, vests, and snorkling gear for swimming.

Yes. Safety is our priority. Complimentary helmets, life jackets, snorkeling masks and torches are available. The underground lake is over 8 metres deep, but swimming is optional and our guides are always nearby. First aid equipment is available on site.

Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, including our relaxing gazebo area. Please note that we do not have wifi inside the cave.

Absolutely. Children of all ages are welcome when supervised by an adult. Life jackets are available free of charge.

Because visitor numbers are still manageable, guests usually enjoy a peaceful experience throughout the day. Early mornings are generally the quietest.

Paje Cave is located in Paje on Zanzibar's southeast coast near White Sands Hotel, about 5 minutes from Paje Beach, 15 minutes from Jambiani and 25 minutes from Jozani Forest.

Yes. Photography is encouraged and we love seeing your photos shared online, so please tag us. Professional photoshoots and usage of drone are also welcomed.

Yes. Visitors can swim in our crystal-clear underground freshwater lake. The water remains refreshingly cool all year and is one of the highlights of visiting Paje Cave. You are welcome to stay in the water as long as you like during your visit. Just please shower before you get in as this is a drinking water well that is consumed by everyone in the south side of the island.

Explore ancient limestone passages, swim in the underground lake, discover medicinal plants, visit the butterfly enclosure, feed rabbits, bush babies and chickens, meet our tortoises, relax in the tropical gardens and enjoy some refreshments. Hopefully we will open a small restaurant in the coming weeks.

Yes. Water shoes and waterproof phone pouches are available for purchase. We also have a selection of hot and cold beverages and at a later stage will have our own restaurant.

Our restaurant and café are currently under construction and will be opening soon, offering breakfast, lunch, desserts, fresh juices, coffee and cooking classes. Drinks are currently available on-site, but we will have larger selection once the café opens.

The lake contains naturally filtered freshwater from Zanzibar's underground aquifer. Although some visitors describe it as a cenote, Paje Cave is a unique limestone cave with a crystal-clear underground freshwater lake.

Yes. Rainy days are actually a wonderful time to visit because the cave remains sheltered and the cooler weather makes the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, there is somthing magical about seeing water drops falling between the stones when it rains.

Yes. Clean changing facilities and toilets are available for all guests. We take pride in offering facilities that get cleaned once or wtice daily.

Absolutely. You're welcome to bring your own snorkeling equipment, although masks and snorkels are also available free of charge and we clean them after every use.

Yes. Private cave reservations are available by advance booking for proposals, photography and special occasions. We also can cater to conferences, parties, family gatherings, etc. when booked in advance.

Yes. We are committed to sustainable tourism through agro forestry, free roaming animals on a regular basis, solar energy, recycling initiatives and protecting the natural cave environment, using indigenous methodes, while respecting local wildlife.

Yes we do offer clean towels. We only charge 5,000 for towel rental.
